A couple of weeks ago I shared the first activity of our Human Body Unit, the Blood Sensory Bin. This week we are looking into skin.
This activity is a great way to teach both science and diversity.
- Googly Eyes
- Popsicle Sticks
- Paint Sample Cards (all skin colors)
- Circle Cutter
- Construction Paper (for Hair colors)
Start by cutting out the heads with your circle cutter.
Next, glue the eyes and draw a nose and a mouth.
Glue your popsicle sticks onto each face and draw a red heart on the front. Last of all comes hair. Ask your child what color hair they would like each face to have, and cut it out. The options we chose were brown, yellow, red, orange, and black. You could do curly, short, long, wavy, spiky, straight, or any other hairstyle preference.
As you can see, we all look different on the outside, but we are the same on the inside.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this activity, and thanks for stopping by!
