Good afternoon everybody! I’ve been wanting to share this with all of you for a while, because it’s been such a blessing to our whole family.
A couple months ago my wonderful mother gave these CDs to us. Usually any kind of kid’s music hits my ears like nails on a chalkboard, but this was different. I don’t know if it’s because they are lullabies, but we love them!
Each song is a scripture verse. They are so calming, and I could honestly just sit and listen to them all day. We plug them in before naptime, and bedtime. And sometimes when chaos is overtaking my house, I just turn these up.
The best part is that my kids are singing scripture! And sometimes they will sing it randomly in the car or when we are out and about, and it always blesses me. My favorite song is called The Peace of God (Philippians 4:6).
Don’t you worry about anything. Instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done. And the peace of God, far beyond what we can understand, will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.
That was the scripture that has gotten me through so much fear and anxiety, and to hear it through music is so powerful. Another favorite of mine is
Love Is (1 Corinthians 13:4)
Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not envy or boast. Love is not rude. Love is not self-seeking, or easily angered. And it keeps no memory of wrongs. It never delights in evil, but rejoices in truth. Love always protects, always trusts. Love always hopes and perseveres. Love never fails. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him they will never ever perish they will have live forever. For God is love. Love never fails. God is love.
When Ella and I do yoga in the morning, sometimes we play this music, and it really helps us start on the right foot. Meditating on the word of God is so important for our souls. It brings our hearts and minds closer to that of our Savior. Living in such a chaotic world, it’s hard for us to be still, and this CD helps us do just that.
Thank you so much for letting me share this with you today! I hope those songs bless you as much as they have blessed me.
