Spring Play-Dough Kit: Part 2

It’s a Spring themed month here on Mustard Seed Family.  From March 20-April 20, we are focusing on the season of spring.  There will be art activities, outside exploration, felt board fun, and much more!  Please stay tuned for fun, cheap, and educational things to do with your toddler/preschooler.

Today I will be sharing two play-dough kits to make at home.

[Play-dough is a great tool that children can use to build their creative minds.  It encourages fine motor skills where kids learn to manipulate small objects with their hands.  There is a lot of learning going on during this play-dough time!]

Play-Dough Kit #1: Flower Vase

  • Play-dough (blue)
  • Flowers (small and cut to fit into a small shot glass)
  • Shot glasses

The first step is putting the blue play-dough into the shot glasses.  Then, your child can make their own miniature flower vase by placing flowers into the play-dough.

Play-Dough Kit #2: Duck Pond

  • blue and green play-dough
  • small rolling pin
  • glass gems and glass tiles
  • small plastic ducks (dollar store)
  • Flowers

For this activity, your child will roll out the blue to make the water for the pond.  Then they will take the green play-dough and “make a snake” to go around the pond.  The decoration options are endless.  Ella loved the glass gems, and called them lily pads, and she made a dock with the mosaic tiles.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this activity, and thanks for stopping by!
