To start this hairstyle, pull your hair into a high ponytail and make a small loop (securing with a clear elastic) leaving a decent amount of hair hanging. The hair left out will eventually be wrapped around the loop.
Split that section of hair into two sections, and begin a fishtail braid. This is done by taking a small section from the right side and adding it to the left side, and then taking a small section from the left side and adding it to the right side.
After completing this fishtail braid, pull on the sides of the braid to create a larger and fuller braid. If you have some hairs peaking out, you can spray the braid with hairspray and lightly smooth them back in place.
Now wrap the fishtail braid around the loop you created, and pin in place with a few bobby pins. You’ll want to tuck the end of the fishtail braid under the loop so that those loose hairs aren’t sticking out.
This is just one creative way to take that high loop one step further. The high loop is my go-to hairstyle as a mom of two littles, but by adding some flair I can take my simple hairstyle out on the town.
