Twist Braided Low Knot Bun

Step-By-Step Tutorial

Twister 2_marked

Start with three sections, two in front and one in back starting behind your ears.  Twist the front two sections by separating each section into two strands.  Twist each strand clockwise and then twist the two strands around each other counterclockwise. Twist all the way to the end and secure with a clear elastic.  If this is confusing, take a look at this tutorial which explains how to make these twists.

Once the front sections are twisted, crisscross them in the back and pin with several bobby pins.

Now take the end of the right twist and twist it underneath the crisscross, pinning it in place.  Then, take the end of the left twist and wrap it around the other twist, pinning with bobby pins.  Make sure that your clear elastics are hidden as you don’t want them sticking out.

Take that back section and make a knot at the nape of your neck.  Wrap the extra hair that is coming through the knot around the knot, pinning it into the knot.  If you want more volume to your knot bun, carefully pull on it to make it bigger until it reaches the preferred volume.
